It's the Hamster Dance

I hope everybody has taken the time this week to do the Hamster Dance. Yeehaw.

Our friend Víctor who will get baptized this Saturday made the connection that the moon would not have light if it weren't for the sun. That is cool because D and C 76 explains that the Terrestrial Kingdom receives light by the ministration of the Celestial. As I read that section, I pondered about the phrasing of "just men made perfect by the perfect atonement of Christ". An interpretation of "just" can be "imperfect people making an effort to be perfected by Christ". Something I learned about fasting is that in other words it is rejoicing and prayer! I would have never thought that before the mission haha. (D&C 59:14). A fun thought is that we are like german shepherd dogs. The Savior is the Shepherd and we just help herd. If you have ever looked at the little sacrament cups after we drink the water there are always left over drops that defy physics and never disappear and that is why the Savior is the one who drank the bitter cup, because He is the only one that could empty it completely. 3 Nephi is fun to read, verses 3 to 8 explain how to hear Him, verse 14 is a conversion process and verse 15 is "after the fact what to do". Verse 11 is so cool because after asking if it could be removed from Him, He declares that submitted to the will of the Father and did as He was asked to do. (Luke 22:42).

This week was pretty epic. We have been eating some soup every now and then so that is literally the most empowering thing ever. We sang a song with the most precious older man, every time I am with him I just wanna give him a hug. We have been having fun taking long bike rides to get to lessons where there isn't good WIFI, and we go on runs in the early morning to see the sunrise. Gotta be fit for when I finish am I right? We learned to make a classic from scratch noodle dish with a family, it was so fun!

Wait how did I still not have time what do I do

Zac was transferred out of the office to serve as a zone leader in a beautiful area with ocean views, beautiful mountains and open fields.  He really enjoys his companion and the wards are strong so they can focus on finding new friends to teach.  He even got to go to church for the first time in about 4-5 months.  His mission president made him promise to throw away a couple pairs of shoes and go out and buy a new pair today.   His p-day is now back to Monday but his call was short today he said because it took them so long to eat their enormous sandwich.  Notice they are wearing sweaters and jackets/coats.

The cool thing about challenging yourself is that you surprise yourself, I before was never good at memorizing but this is my current scripture list!

Anyways last week I escaped to Brazil lowkey and my inner recklessness was unleashed, my future companion needs to be a very reasonable person. I spent my last few days in the mission being the mission chofer, drove around the country. I am loving my new area, Maldonado and my new companion, Elder Marqués. We are working hard and being obedient :)

Love, Elder Jerman

Sorry what was that you gotta speak up thanks yeah I'm just writing the subject haha thanks appreciate it

Hey so sorry for the past couple letters right now I'm lowkey driving to Brazil so I'll see y'all later but here's a nice picture of us eating epic pizza with our buddy Walter who got baptized.

Also here's a thought I had, I'm not sure why all the thoughts I share on my emails have to do with cleaning or bathrooms but I promise that when I teach people I go for other comparisons. Which has actually been something I've enjoyed learning on my mission is making comparisons. A companion I had told me he thought it was for having a virtuous mind.

Anyways so once we went to a gas station where we had to pay money to use the bathroom but we were poor. However there was a soda can that was holding the door open. That can allowed us to feel relief and joy. I imagine this being like Christ and His Atonemoent and justice. Does a price need to be paid to go the bathroom? Yes because somebody has to open to open the door but we are all poor and incapable of paying it. Jesus Christ paid the price and left us the means to enjoy salvation, a can holding open the door. I chose to take advantage of the can and enjoy salvation, other people didn't and they suffered trying to find another way to reach a bathroom that didn't exist. Our Savior paid the price and satisfied the justice, opening the door and left us the way to enter into His rest.

Hey so quick announcement I have a little more than 3 months in the office and I'm already leaving, President said he needed zone leaders and couldn't find any so he had to look closer to home. Since I've hardly talked about what I've been doing in the office I'll summarize real quick.

• We upload the missions baptisms, I made a digital way for the missionaries to pass the information which was cool.
• We do health stuff so we coordinated the missions flu shots and are in the process of covid vaccines
• Every week we design and put together the digital mission magazine. It should be a job for a team of pros so it's a fun  challenge.
• We carry the missions yearly story that the Church stores.
• We do random things like materials and packages for the missionaries
• We're in charge of legal documentation for the missionaries.
• And well as an office we just do anything the President and the mission needs. Lots of travels for lots of reasons which I like. For example as I'm writing we are on the way to a border city with Brazil.

Anyways I loved the time I had, it got cut short but that's what happens with such a small mission. Supposedly 80 missionaries are coming at the end of the month. Please come. We are only 50 something. I learned a ton and was able to learn more humility, patience, and discipline.

Anyways I love everyone!!

Goodbye email list

Well here is an official goodbye and thank you for being with me through these 2 miracle years. I love you all! Please stay in touch and d...
